Last week, we participated in our first-ever trade show, Life in Style, at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, Melbourne.
We were just one among hundreds of incredible Australian and international brands who came along to showcase their wares for local and far-flung industry folk there to scope out what’s hot and new in homewares, fashion and design.
Life in Style is one of the country’s best shows, so we were pretty thrilled to be involved, and we absolutely loved meeting our fellow creatives and style enthusiasts (and checking out their amazing products), plus putting some faces to the names behind brands we’ve admired for a long time.
Here are our top five picks of who and what we loved from the show:
When East Met West
These guys were a real stand out and were possibly our favourite overall. They have a unique aesthetic that is inspired by the Silk Road, putting beautiful, considered designs onto throws, cushions and poufs in muted tones and complementing colours.
Art Club Concept
There are some very cool peeps behind this brand, whose offerings include eye-catching, bold prints on cushions, skateboards and artworks. They have an edgy and distinct vibe that is very contemporary and totally on-trend.
Gorgeous rugs and cushions were on display at Langton Ltd, and by that we mean GORGEOUS. So many soft, pretty colours are harmoniously paired together in these guys’ designs. We loved the clever element of metallic pops in their rugs, and honestly can’t wait to make a purchase from them soon.
Otto and Spike
We were lucky enough to have the wonderful Otto and Spike team as our neighbours, and boy were they a hoot! Their designs were as fun and colourful as the personalities behind them. Our favourites were the cute and crazy socks in rainbow-bright hues. We may have left with a few pairs of our own…
We’ve admired Lazybones for a long time now, not only for their cute, quirky, vintage-style look, but we also admire the success they have achieved as a business. We almost wanted to just jump right into their display, it looked so cosy in there.
Here are some photos of our own display from the fair, which showcased our lovely new range, Macondo.
